Preparation procedure

  • Cream: Mix the pudding powder into a portion of the cold milk. Heat the remaining milk with the sugar. When it begins to boil, pour in the mixed pudding and, stirring constantly, cook a thick cream. Cover with plastic wrap and let cool. Whip the cooled pudding, add the butter and finally fold in the sour cream. Mix thoroughly.
  • Dough: Beat the butter with the sugar until frothy, then gradually add the eggs. Stir in the sour cream, the flour mixed with the baking powder, and finally the ground poppy seeds. Spread the batter onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake at 180 °C for about 20 minutes until golden. Let cool.
  • Assembly: Evenly spread the vanilla cream over the cooled sponge. Chill in the refrigerator until set.
  • Glaze: Break the chocolate into pieces, add the oil and melt in a double boiler. Stir until smooth. Pour the chocolate over the cream-coated cake and let set.
