Nut tartlets are one of the most beloved festive cookies that are never missing from a celebratory table. This recipe, tried and tested through generations, combines a crisp dough, delicious apricot jam and a fluffy walnut filling. Make them yourself and savor their perfect taste!

Preparation procedure

  • Filling preparation: First, beat the egg whites with the powdered sugar until stiff peaks form. Then gradually add the ground walnuts and fold in gently. Set the filling aside.
  • Dough preparation: In a bowl, mix the all-purpose flour with the baking soda. Add the egg yolks, margarine, lard and sour cream as needed. Work into a smooth dough that should have a consistency resembling Linzer dough.
  • Cutting and lining: Roll the dough out to about 0.5 cm thickness. Use a larger glass to cut out circles, place them into the tartlet molds and press them in carefully.
  • Filling: Put a teaspoon of apricot jam into the bottom of each tartlet and then cover it with a layer of the walnut filling.
  • Baking: Bake the tartlets in a preheated oven at 190 °C for 25 minutes, until the edges turn golden. After baking, let them cool slightly – they will then release from the molds on their own.
