Do you have milk, eggs and a little sour cream at home? Then you’re just one step away from a dessert that tastes like real ice cream! This simple recipe from YouTube is ideal for hot days and unexpected guests – it requires no baking and its preparation will take you only a few minutes. Plus, you don’t even need a mold – an empty milk carton will do!

Preparation procedure

  • Gelatin preparation: From the measured milk, pour off a little and pour it over the gelatin. Let it bloom for a few minutes.
  • Egg mixture: Whisk the yolks with the sugar and vanilla sugar. Add the remaining milk and pour into a saucepan.
  • Cooking: Over low heat, heat the mixture, stirring constantly, until it begins to gently simmer. Let it simmer briefly, remove from the heat and add the bloomed gelatin. Stir thoroughly so that the gelatin completely dissolves.
  • Combining with the cream: Mix the sour cream with a little sugar and then add it to the egg mixture. Combine everything into a smooth cream.
  • Setting: Pour the mixture into a clean milk carton from which we cut off the top. Cover with cling film and refrigerate for at least 3–4 hours (ideally overnight).
  • Serving: After it sets, cut open the carton and slice the dessert. You can serve it as is, or decorate with fruit, chocolate or whipped cream.
