The cake Drunken Cherry is an irresistible combination of drunken cherries, cocoa sponge and a delicate Nutella cream. This dessert is truly exceptional and will appeal to every lover of sweet treats. Its preparation is simple, but the result is absolutely fantastic. Preparation procedure

  • Preparation of the drunken cherries: Pour rum over the pitted cherries and let them stand overnight.
  • Cocoa sponge: Mix the flour, cocoa and baking powder. Whisk the egg whites into stiff peaks, add the powdered sugar and add the yolks one at a time, continuing to whisk. Gently fold in the flour mixture. Pour the batter onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated oven at 170 °C for about 25-30 minutes. After baking, let cool and carefully remove the parchment paper.
  • Nutella and cherry cream: Beat the butter until creamy, gradually add the Nutella and mix well into a smooth cream. Finally add the drained cherries and gently mix.
  • Cream: Mix the gelatin with 60 ml cold water and let it sit for 10 minutes. Then heat it until it dissolves completely (do not boil). Let it cool. Whip the cream with the sugar into stiff peaks and slowly whisk in the cooled gelatin.
  • Punch: Dissolve the sugar in warm water and add the rum in which the cherries were. Stir the mixture.
  • Assembling the cake: Pour the prepared punch over the cocoa layer. Spread the Nutella and cherry cream on top and smooth it out. Then add the cream layer, also smooth, and let it chill in the refrigerator. Before serving, sprinkle with cocoa or grated chocolate.

  • Baking the sponge: 25-30 minutes
  • Preparing the cream: 20 minutes
  • Total time: approximately 2-3 hours (including cooling time)
