Dutch minced-meat cutlets are a Czech classic suitable for a quick family lunch or a weekend dinner. They are most often enjoyed with a potato side and a fresh salad, so they go great with, for example, baked smashed potatoes with cheese and garlic or a light fitness cucumber salad. Below you will find a tested method that works reliably and the cutlets will be juicy, flavorful and beautifully crispy.

Preparation procedure

  • Place the minced meat into a larger bowl and add the egg, milk, finely grated cheese, pressed garlic, salt and pepper. Mix everything thoroughly so that a compact and moist meat mixture is formed.
  • Shape flat cutlets from the mixture about 1–1.5 cm thick. Prepare the classic breading station – flour, beaten eggs and breadcrumbs. Coat each cutlet in turn in flour, egg and finally in breadcrumbs.
  • Heat a sufficient amount of oil in a pan and fry the cutlets over medium heat on both sides until golden, approximately 4–5 minutes on each side. Let the finished cutlets drain briefly on paper towels.
