Preparation procedure

  • Dough preparation In a bowl, mix the cottage cheese, butter, egg, vanilla sugar and a pinch of salt. Add the flour mixed with the baking powder and work into a smooth, non-sticky dough. Let it rest in the refrigerator for a few minutes.
  • Shaping the roses On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to a sheet about 0.5 cm thick. Use a glass to cut out circles. Take three circles, slightly overlap them, roll into a cylinder and cut in half – you will get two roses.
  • Baking Place the roses cut side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C for approximately 15–20 minutes until golden.
  • Finishing While still warm, sprinkle the roses with a mixture of powdered and vanilla sugar. Let cool on a wire rack.
