Sprays with the scent of rose, morning freshness or sea breeze can nowadays be smelled in many a home. Few people, however, know that this can be achieved even without using store-bought air fresheners.

Behind a pleasant scent hide various toxic substances, such as phenol, formaldehyde and phthalates! In enclosed spaces all of these ingredients are carcinogenic, easily penetrating the body through our lungs and skin.

If you want to protect yourself and your family from this danger, make your own natural air freshener! Its preparation will take you a few minutes, but its benefit is priceless. Not only will it fill your home with a fresh scent, but it will also handle bad aromas in your car. It neutralizes various unpleasant odors and can even protect your clothes from moths. Most importantly, it does not harm your health!
Nice containers that you no longer use but don’t want to throw away can be used as a place for a soda air freshener. Why soda? Baking soda is able to prevent the spread of unpleasant odors for a relatively long time. Get started!

What we’ll need:

  • 1-2 small containers with a lid
  • baking soda
  • a favorite essential oil or a blend of essential oils

Instructions:

1. Pour a 1 cm layer of baking soda into the bottom of the container.
2. Add 7-12 drops of essential oil.
3. Close the container with the lid or a piece of foil and shake well.
4. Then make several small holes in the lid using a nail and hammer. Done!

Coffee air freshener

Do you like the smell of coffee? Then this scent is a bullseye — it will make your beautiful home even more pleasant and fill it with an incredibly delicious coffee aroma.

It can be ready in just a few minutes. Fill your bowls, boxes, or small vases with roasted coffee beans and place them around the house.

Orange freshener

Oranges, lemons, and other citrus fruits are also an excellent base for creating pleasant scents. Not only can they decorate your interior, but they also have excellent anti-inflammatory effects.

What we’ll need:

  • 1 orange
  • 3-5 drops of orange essential oil
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 cloves

Instructions:

  • Using a sharp knife, cut out the top of the orange and use a teaspoon to remove all the pulp.
  • Fill the orange with cinnamon, place the cloves inside, and add the drops of essential oil.
  • All that’s left is to place it where it can best emit its amazing scent.
  • A homemade natural air freshener will help you create a unique atmosphere at home. Choose the most suitable and pleasant scents — after all, you are creating the scent of your home.
