Does your child also have moments when you don’t recognize them? Do they turn into a disobedient little devil at moments when it’s completely inappropriate? Don’t despair, it’s completely natural and part of human development. According to scientists, small children are much more aggressive than, for example, teenagers.

Aggression in children

The research that confirmed this fact was conducted by JAMA Network Open, which examined 2,223 young children of both sexes aged from 18 months up to 13 years.

Before the study, parents were asked which age they considered the most challenging in terms of aggressiveness, and almost everyone agreed on the pubertal years. However, the parents were wrong.

The result of the study was truly surprising!

Scientific research

According to the results, the most demanding age is 2–4 years, when aggressiveness is truly at its highest level.

Around the age of 3.5 years it gradually begins to ease until the start of primary school, when a child can perfectly control their anger.

Even though aggressiveness as such manifests in this period in all children, there are certain factors that can trigger it more and more.

Multiple-child families

According to scientists, children in multiple-child families are much more aggressive because their parents are unable to monitor them due to a lack of time for each individual child in the family.

In addition, children of uneducated parents tend to be more aggressive, because the parents cannot respond quickly enough to their anger.

Social factors also affect the child. If, especially at an older age, they fall into a bad group of people, they can develop an aggressive personality, so it is appropriate to prevent that in time.

Healthy child development

It is necessary to ensure that the child undergoes healthy development and not one in which they carry their anger into adulthood, where it may be reinforced by alcohol, drugs, or other addictions.

Boys are more prone to aggressiveness, especially at a later age when aggressiveness manifests mainly through inappropriate words.

The study also showed that if a child is calm at a very young age, they can easily become aggressive later on, similar to a child who was aggressive at ages 2–4.

Every parent will do best if they shower their child with love from birth. That is when personality is formed, and it is essential that the baby feels comfortable and is Lube.
