To be healthy and be able to reach a great age, it is enough to drink 8 glasses of water a day. We have been hearing this advice almost everywhere lately, and so we watch how many glasses of water we drink and even set reminders that we should drink another glass. Then we wait for the promised results.
Drinking regimen
It’s just plain water and few would say that we could get tangled in it. If you drink the wrong water, the amazing promised results simply won’t materialize.
So which water do you drink?
Cross boiling water off your list immediately. We’ll be talking about warm and cold water. One of them harms our body much more than you might originally think. This is evidenced not only by modern but also by traditional medicine. For example, according to ancient Chinese belief, cold water should not be consumed at all because it has a slowing and compressive effect.
What happens when you drink cold water?
When the body suffers from a lack of water, drinking 1-2 glasses is the simplest solution. Whether it’s well water, tap water or water from a plastic bottle, few people care about the temperature of such water. You should not drink cold water at all. There are many reasons for this …
1. Blood vessels constrict, preventing normal oxygen flow to the organs. It also impairs digestive function.
2. Excess fat — cold water thickens it, which can lead to obesity.
3. Adaptation – Instead of the body transforming food into energy, the organism must work harder to adapt to this temperature.
4. The amount of mucus increases, which raises the risk of illness.
Now think about how often you drink cold water to refresh yourself, quench your thirst, or survive a hot summer day… On one hand it seems easier, you feel refreshed and energized, but is it a long-term effect?
What happens when you drink warm water?
One day my friend visited relatives in Uzbekistan. In heat at 50 ° C everyone, from young to old, drank hot tea and felt great. Peter McNaughton from Cambridge University explains this phenomenon from a scientific point of view. When you drink a hot beverage, receptors send a signal to the brain and the body immediately triggers a cooling mechanism.
A person begins to sweat due to activation of the cooling system. It is therefore much easier to survive such heat than if you were to drink chilled mineral water. The inhabitants of Uzbekistan discovered this many years ago. We’re not telling you to drink hot tea. We do insist, however, that instead of cold water it is better to favor warm water. It has its advantages …
1. Improves metabolism – it speeds up and it’s best if you start right in the morning. On an empty stomach drink a glass of warm water with 2 tsp of lemon juice. When you eat in the morning, your metabolism will already be started at the right pace.
2. Removes toxins! In fact warm water can more easily rid the body of toxins and harmful substances than ordinary cold water. Remember to have 1 glass 30 minutes after a meal.
3. Fights cholesterol. A mixture of warm water and lemon juice is incredibly beneficial for people suffering from overweight and high cholesterol. It helps cleanse the blood vessels, regulate weight and blood sugar levels.
4. Purifies the blood – in the morning fill your copper thermos with warm water. Leave it like that until evening. Before you go to bed, drink 1-2 glasses of water. Such water increases the detoxification process in the body.
5. Reduces mucus levels. Warm water causes mucus to move, prevents bacteria from reproducing, thereby freeing our body from unpleasant colds.
Conclusion
These are also the reasons on which the recommendation to drink water at room temperature is based. The body therefore does not have to expend energy to warm it and it will not cause any negative consequences during the digestion process.
When excessively cold water enters our body, it meets a low temperature, which can lead to disruption of the digestive system and subsequent cramping. Prefer warm water and the changes won’t be long in coming!
