Preparation procedure

  • Preparing the batter: Mix the flour with the baking powder and cocoa. Beat the yolks with the sugar until foamy. Add the milk and oil and mix thoroughly. Gradually fold in the mixture of flour, baking powder and cocoa. Mix into a smooth batter.
  • Baking the cake: Pour the batter into a greased and floured baking sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 °C for about 30 minutes.
  • Preparing the meringue: Beat the egg whites with the sugar and vanilla sugar until stiff peaks form. Spread the meringue evenly over the baked cake. Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake at 200 °C for another 5 minutes, until the meringue is lightly browned.
