Preparation procedure

  • Dough preparation: Quickly work the dough ingredients by hand into a smooth dough. Wrap it in cling film and let it rest in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  • Preparing the filling: Peel the apples, remove the cores and cut them into small pieces. Mix them with the ground nuts, cinnamon and sugar (add sugar according to the sweetness of the apples).
  • Shaping the cake: After resting, divide the dough into two halves. Roll each half into a sheet the size of a baking tray. Place the first sheet on a greased tray and evenly spread the apple filling on it.
  • Covering: Place the second sheet of dough over the filling, firmly seal the edges (so the filling doesn't leak), and gently prick the surface with a fork.
  • Baking: Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C for about 30-40 minutes, until the surface of the cake turns golden.
  • Finishing: While still hot, brush the cake with butter and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
