Preparation procedure

  • Preparing the batter In a bowl, mix all the dry ingredients – flour, cocoa, sugar, baking powder, vanillin and a pinch of salt. Stir, then add the eggs, oil, milk and melted butter. Mix everything thoroughly until a smooth batter forms.
  • Preparing the bananas Peel the bananas and slice them into rounds or half-moons. Grease a baking tray with butter and arrange the banana pieces on the bottom.
  • Baking Pour the prepared batter evenly over the bananas and bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C for about 30–35 minutes. Check the cake with a skewer – if it comes out dry after pulling it out, it's done.
  • Preparing the glaze In the meantime prepare the glaze: put the milk, sugar and cocoa into a small saucepan, bring to a boil, remove from heat and stir in the butter. Once the butter has melted, it's ready.
  • Finishing Let the baked cake cool for a while, pour the chocolate glaze over it and let it set. You can serve it still slightly warm – that's when it tastes best!
