- Preparing the oranges Peel 3 oranges (or mandarins) and place them in a blender; blend them into a smooth mixture.
- Mixing the batter Whisk the eggs with the sugar until a smooth, pale mixture forms. Add the melted butter, plain flour, baking powder and vanilla sugar. Mix everything until the batter is smooth.
- Adding the oranges Add the blended oranges to the prepared batter and mix.
- Baking Pour the mixture into a small baking pan measuring 20 x 20 cm, lined with parchment paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 30 minutes. Test the batter with a toothpick – if it comes out dry, the cake is done.
- Finishing Once cooled, dust the cake with powdered sugar. You can also serve it with whipped cream or chocolate glaze for extra flavor.
