  • Preparing the cabbage and meat: Lightly squeeze the sauerkraut and chop finely. In a bowl mix the minced meat, finely chopped onion, garlic, pepper and cabbage. Mix thoroughly.
  • Making the batter: Add to the bowl with the meat mixture the flour, baking powder, grated potatoes, milk, eggs and the remaining spices. Mix thoroughly to form a thicker batter similar to that for potato pancakes.
  • Baking: Prepare a baking tray, line it with parchment paper and spread the batter evenly. If you like, you can sprinkle the surface with bacon cubes for an even more pronounced flavor.
  • Into the oven: Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C for about 35–40 minutes, until the surface turns golden brown.
  • Serving: After baking let the tray cool slightly, cut into portions and serve on its own or with your favorite dip.
