Preparation procedure

  • Preparing the dough: Whisk the egg whites with the sugar until stiff peaks form. Then gradually add the flour, ground poppy seeds and coconut. Mix the mixture thoroughly until a smooth batter forms.
  • Baking the dough: Prepare a baking tray lined with baking paper and spread the batter evenly on it. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C for about 25 minutes, until the dough turns golden.
  • Preparing the cream: Beat the egg yolks with the sugar into a smooth foam. Dissolve the starch in the milk and add it to the yolks. Heat the mixture over low heat and, stirring constantly, add the pudding powder. Once the cream thickens, remove it from the heat and stir in the butter.
  • Assembling the dessert: Spread the prepared egg-yolk cream evenly over the cooled dough. On the cream, spread the crushed biscuits that you soaked beforehand in strong coffee.
  • Chocolate glaze: Melt the chocolate with the milk in a water bath. Cover the entire dessert with the finished glaze and smooth the surface thoroughly. Let it set.

  • Serve the dessert well chilled so that all the flavors blend beautifully.
  • For extra effect you can decorate the surface with a pinch of coconut or grated chocolate.
