Langos are a popular treat, but the fried version can be too heavy. This oven-baked langos recipe is a great alternative – they’re not fried, yet still taste fantastic. You bake them simply on a baking sheet and can serve them with garlic, ketchup, or cheese. Plus, they are lighter, healthier and less greasy.

Preparation procedure

  • Sift the plain flour into a bowl, add the sugar, yeast and salt. Mix well.
  • Pour in the lukewarm water and work into a smooth dough.
  • Add the oil, knead again and cover with plastic wrap. Let rise for 30 minutes.
  • Divide the risen dough into 4 equal parts and roll into flat rounds.
  • Transfer them to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and brush with beaten egg.
  • Sprinkle with grated cheese and bake in an oven preheated to 180 °C for 20–25 minutes.
  • After baking, you can brush with garlic mixed with oil or serve with ketchup.
