Preparation procedure

  • Preparing the batter: Beat the eggs with the sugar and vanilla sugar until foamy. Add the oil and milk, mix thoroughly. Then add the semolina, ground walnuts, flour and baking powder. Mix everything well until a smooth batter forms.
  • Baking the cake: Pour the batter onto a greased and floured baking sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C for about 25 minutes. The cake is done when the surface begins to brown slightly and is not sticky.
  • Preparing the syrup: Bring the sugar and water to a boil and cook for about 2–3 minutes. Pour the finished syrup over the still-hot cake.
  • Preparing the cream: Pour the cold milk into a bowl, add 2 packets of whipped cream powder and whip until stiff. Spread the finished cream evenly over the cooled cake. Finally, sprinkle with a little ground walnuts.
  • Serving: Let the cake cool for a while and then cut it into portions. Serve as a sweet treat with coffee or at celebrations.
