Preparation procedure

  • Preparation of the quark filling Beat the eggs with a whisk and dissolve the pudding powder in the milk. In a saucepan over low heat melt the butter, add the sugar and vanilla sugar and stir until dissolved. Then add the quark and stir until smooth.
  • Thickening the mixture Add the beaten eggs and the pudding mixed with milk to the hot quark mixture. Cook the mixture over low heat for 10–15 minutes, until it thickens and attains a velvety consistency.
  • Assembling the cake Place a layer of butter cookies on the bottom of the pan. Pour half of the hot quark mixture over them. Then add a layer of flavored cookies and pour the remaining quark mixture over them. Finally, cover everything with another layer of cookies.
  • Preparing the glaze Melt the milk and white chocolate (each separately) in a double boiler and add 2–3 tablespoons of milk so the consistency is pourable but thick.
  • Decorating and chilling Let the chocolate cool slightly and then pour it over the cake. Use a toothpick to create decorative patterns. Let the cake rest in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, ideally overnight.
