Preparation procedure

  • Dough preparation: In a bowl, mix the softened butter, flour, vanilla sugar, sour cream and salt. Tip: For a better consistency you can add a little flour if the dough is too sticky, but keep in mind the dough should still be soft and easy to shape.
  • Kneading the dough: Work the dough into a smooth, not too sticky dough. If the dough is too sticky, add a bit more flour.
  • Chilling the dough: Wrap the dough in cling film and put it in the fridge for 15-20 minutes so it firms up slightly and is easier to work with.
  • Shaping the rolls: After chilling, roll the dough out on a floured work surface into a thin sheet. Then cut it into small rectangles. Place a teaspoon of plum jam or jam in the center of each piece and wrap the dough with the filling into a roll shape.
  • Baking: Move the rolls to a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C for 15-20 minutes, until golden.
  • Finishing: After baking, let the rolls cool and then roll them in powdered sugar. Serve as a delicious dessert with tea or coffee.
