Cherry-poppy seed slices are soft, juicy and incredibly easy to make. Thanks to the cup recipe, anyone can manage it – even children! This cake is full of flavor and goes great with afternoon coffee or as a sweet snack.

  • Dough preparation: In a bowl, mix the kefir, eggs, sugar, oil, baking powder, ground poppy seeds and flour. Mix everything until you obtain a smooth batter.
  • Baking: Preheat the oven to 190 °C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and pour the prepared batter onto it. Spread it evenly and sprinkle with pitted cherries or sour cherries to taste.
  • Finishing: Bake in the preheated oven for about 20–25 minutes, until the cake turns golden. After baking, let it cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
