Preparation procedure
- Preparing the basic batter: In a bowl, beat the butter with the sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy. Gradually add the eggs one at a time and beat well. Add the vanilla extract and mix again.
- Mixing the dry ingredients: In another bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder and a pinch of salt. Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamed butter while simultaneously pouring in the milk. Mix until a smooth batter forms.
- Preparing the chocolate batter: Divide the batter into two portions. To one half, add the cocoa, sugar, milk and hot water. Use a mixer to blend everything until smooth.
- Layering the batter: Line the baking pan with parchment paper. First pour the light batter into the pan, then add the chocolate batter. Create a marble pattern using a skewer or spoon.
- Baking: Preheat the oven to 180 °C. Bake the cake for 30–35 minutes, until the top turns golden and the cake is cooked through.
- Finishing: Let the cake cool and, if desired, dust with powdered sugar. Slice and serve!
