Preparation procedure

  • Mix all ingredients for the dough and work into a uniform dough. Add milk or flour as needed so the dough is not too stiff or too runny
  • Let it rest for 30 minutes
  • Divide into 3 parts
  • Roll out each portion of dough
  • Sprinkle the first sheet with breadcrumbs, sugar and cinnamon and add grated apples
  • Spread quark with raisins and sugar on the second sheet
  • Place poppy seeds with sugar and cherries on the third sheet
  • Roll up in the classic way or cut the edges and fold them over alternately
  • Line a baking tray with baking paper and brush the strudels with melted butter
  • Bake for approx. 30 minutes at 200 degrees
  • After removing from the oven, brush with butter mixed with rum
