Preparation procedure

  • Prepare the starter: In a bowl, mix the warm milk and water, add the sugar, salt and dried yeast. Mix everything thoroughly.
  • Mix the dough: Add the melted butter and gradually work in the plain flour. Knead into a smooth, non-sticky dough.
  • Let it rise: Brush the dough and the bowl with a little oil, cover with a cloth and let rise in a warm place for about 45 minutes.
  • Shaping the rolls: Divide the risen dough into 9 equal pieces and shape them into rolls. Place them next to each other on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Second rise: Cover with a cloth and let rise for another 15 minutes.
  • Preparation for baking: Lightly dust the rolls with flour, score each one on top with a razor blade or sharp knife and insert a slice of butter into the cut.
  • Baking: Bake in a preheated oven at 200 °C for approximately 25 minutes until golden.
