Preparation procedure

  • Dough preparation: In a bowl, mix the flour with the chopped butter, add the powdered sugar, baking soda, cocoa and the egg. Work into a smooth dough and divide it into two equal halves.
  • Preparing the pan: Prepare a baking tray lined with parchment paper and lightly dust with flour. Spread the first half of the dough evenly over the bottom of the tray.
  • Cream preparation: Cook the vanilla pudding according to the instructions and let it cool. Stir the sour cream into the cooled pudding and then the whipping cream. Mix the cream thoroughly so that it is smooth and fluffy.
  • Assembling the cake: Spread the prepared vanilla cream over the first layer of dough and cover it with the second half of the dough.
  • Baking: Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C for about 25–30 minutes, until the cake is baked to a golden brown. After baking, let the cake cool, ideally overnight, so the flavours meld.

  • Chilling: overnight (for better consistency)
  • Total: approximately 1 hour 15 minutes (+ time for chilling)
