Preparation procedure

  • Put the yeast into a larger bowl, add a tablespoon of sugar, pour in the warm milk and water. Mix well with a whisk.
  • Let the yeast activate for a few minutes. Then pour in the oil, add the plain yogurt and the egg, and mix well again.
  • Add the flour and salt and knead a smooth dough – this will take about 5 minutes. Let it rise for about 90 minutes.
  • Oil the work surface.
  • Transfer the risen dough onto it and shape 10–12 even balls.
  • Roll each ball into an oval.
  • On a floured board, roll them up into rolls.
  • You can gently curve the rolls to create a nice roll shape.
  • Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Let them rise for about 30 minutes under a cotton towel.
  • Then brush them with cold water.
  • Bake for about 20 minutes at 220 °C.
  • Brush the baked rolls with butter and serve.
