Preparation procedure

  • Preparing the dough Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder and a pinch of salt. Add the butter, egg yolk and sour cream. Work into a smooth dough, wrap it in plastic wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  • Preparing the filling Peel the apples, cut them into small pieces and place them in a pot with the water, sugar and cinnamon to cook. Cook over low heat until the apples are soft. Then add the vanilla pudding dissolved in a little water and, stirring constantly, simmer until the filling thickens.
  • Assembling the pie Divide the dough into two halves. Roll out the first half and transfer it to a baking tray lined with baking paper. Spread the prepared apple filling evenly over the dough. Roll out the second half of the dough as well and place it on top of the filling. Seal the edges tightly.
  • Baking Place the pie in a preheated oven at 180 °C and bake for approximately 40 minutes, until the surface turns golden brown. After baking, let the pie cool and before serving dust it with powdered sugar.
