Preparation procedure

  • Preparation of the coconut cream: In a saucepan over low heat, heat the milk with the sugar and butter. Stir constantly and heat until the mixture thickens. Once it reaches the desired consistency, remove from the heat and let the cream cool. Stir grated coconut into the cooled mixture.
  • Preparing the batter: In a bowl, mix the flour, milk, eggs, oil, sugar, cocoa and baking powder. Use a whisk to achieve a smooth batter consistency. Divide the batter into two equal parts.
  • Baking the first layer: Prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Pour the first half of the batter onto it and spread evenly. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C for 10 minutes.
  • Assembling the cake: Remove the baked first layer from the oven and spread the prepared coconut cream evenly over it. Pour the second half of the batter over the cream and spread evenly again.
  • Second baking: Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for another 25 minutes at the same temperature.
  • Finishing: After baking, let the cake cool. Finally, sprinkle it with grated coconut for a beautiful appearance and extra flavor.
