Preparation procedure

  • Preparing the dough: Separate the yolks from the whites and beat the whites until stiff peaks form. Add the yolks, butter (or margarine), sugar, warm milk, dried yeast, a pinch of salt and the sifted flour. Knead with your hands into a smooth dough that does not stick.
  • Shaping: On a floured work surface, roll the dough into a sheet about 0.5 cm thick. Using a pastry wheel or a knife, cut out rectangles and make a slit in the middle of each. You can lightly twist the edges so they resemble "inverted underwear".
  • Frying: Heat the oil in a deep pan or pot. Fry the Boží milosti until golden on both sides. Then let them drain on paper towels.
  • Finishing: While still warm, coat the milosti in powdered sugar mixed with ground cinnamon. They are best when cooled, served with tea or coffee.
