Preparation procedure

  • Mix the flour with the sugar, baking powder, salt and softened butter.
  • Add the egg yolks and sour cream and work the dough. (If the dough does not stick together sufficiently, you can help it a little with sour cream.)
  • From the dough thus formed make a thin sheet and place it on a greased or baking paper–lined baking tray. The thickness of the sheet should be approx. 0.5 cm.
  • Sprinkle the dough with two tablespoons of semolina (a thin layer, just enough to absorb the plum juice).
  • Peel and cut the plums in half - place them cut-side up, sprinkle with cinnamon and sprinkle with the remaining 3 tablespoons of semolina.
  • Cream: Take the egg whites and whisk them with the sugar into stiff peaks. In a saucepan, mix the egg yolks with the pudding powder and sour cream. Finally, carefully mix both mixtures and pour over the fruit, smoothing it out.
  • Bake in a preheated oven for 40–45 minutes at 170–180 °C. Don't forget to check the cake during baking - every oven bakes differently. You can cover the top of the cake with baking paper.
