Retro pastry střecha is a popular staple in home cookbooks. The combination of light and dark sponge cake, buttercream with rum, and chocolate glaze creates an unforgettable taste experience. Preparation procedure

  • Prepare the sponge cakes: Preheat the oven to 200 °C and line a baking tray with baking paper, which you lightly brush with lard. First beat the eggs with the sugar and vanilla sugar, gradually add the oil and fold in the flour with a wooden spoon (for the dark sponge also the cocoa). Pour the batter onto the tray and bake for about 8 minutes. Bake both the light and dark sheets this way.
  • Prepare the cream: Make a thick pudding from the milk and flour, let it cool. Beat the softened butter, sugars and rum into the cold pudding. Finally fold in the gummy bears or candied fruit. The cream should be smooth yet firm.
  • Layering: Slice the baked and cooled sponge cakes lengthwise into 3 strips. Stack them alternately (light, dark, light…), spreading cream between each layer. Put the finished base to set in the refrigerator.
  • Shaping the roof: Cut the resulting block diagonally to create triangular pieces. Join them with cream into the shape of a roof – place the shorter straight side down, use the longer sides to join at the peak. Spread cream on the slanted sides.
  • Glaze: Melt the chocolate with the shortening in a bain-marie and pour over the cake. Let it set in the refrigerator.
