Preparation procedure

  • Peel the apples, remove the cores and cut into small pieces. Mix them with ground cinnamon and set aside.
  • In a bowl, whisk the eggs with the granulated sugar and vanilla sugar until pale and frothy. Add the oil and sour cream and briefly mix.
  • In another bowl, combine plain flour, baking powder, a pinch of salt and ground poppy seeds. Gradually incorporate this mixture into the egg base.
  • Finally fold in the prepared apples and work into a smooth, semi-liquid batter.
  • Spread the batter onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 170 °C for approximately 25–30 minutes, until the cake is cooked through and the surface is lightly golden.
  • Melt the chocolate in a water bath or in the microwave, stir in the oil and pour the resulting glaze over the cooled cake. Let it set.
