This recipe according to Florentýna is an ideal choice if you want to use up leftovers of roasted meat, ham or cheese and at the same time prepare a warm and filling meal for the whole family.

  • Prepare the bread Cut fresh bread into small cubes and let it dry, ideally overnight. If you're in a hurry, use an oven set to 40 °C or the drying program.
  • Prepare the remaining ingredients Cut the meat into small pieces. Rinse the leek or spring onions, dry and chop finely. Coarsely grate the cheese.
  • Mix the stuffing In a bowl, mix the bread, meat, cheese and spring onions. In another container, whisk the eggs with the milk and salt. Pour over the mixture and stir. Let rest for 10–15 minutes until the bread absorbs the liquid.
  • Prepare the baking dish Grease the baking dishes with half of the butter. Preheat the oven to 180 °C (top and bottom heat).
  • Bake the stuffing Divide the mixture into the dishes, place pieces of the remaining butter on top and bake for about 30 minutes, until the stuffing firms up and turns beautifully golden. Let the finished stuffing rest for 5 minutes.
  • Serve Turn the stuffing out of the dishes and serve with boiled potatoes or a fresh salad.
