Thanks to baking soda, pests such as ants or slugs will disappear from your garden, and flowers will bloom beautifully and plants will grow great. Every gardener dreams of a perfect harvest that lasts, and to protect our crops we often reach for chemical products that also harm our bodies.
Baking soda
Products made from chemical compounds are often very expensive and, above all, very dangerous. To protect your garden you can use something much cheaper and, above all, something that does not contain chemical substances. This great helper is baking soda.
Home-grown vegetables
You can buy baking soda in any grocery store. We recommend always having baking soda on hand at home. It can help you in many areas, both in the garden and at home.
Grapes
Growing grapes is becoming increasingly popular, but protecting them from all the dangers they face is not easy at all.
First of all, there is Gray mold, which attacks the grapes.
In that case it is completely sufficient to spray the grapes with a solution of baking soda.
Spray for grapevines
- 75g baking soda
- 10 liters of water
Mix these two ingredients and spray onto the vines. The mixture will protect the grapes from molds and at the same time increase the sugar inside the berries.
Fruit trees and shrubs
If you need to protect your fruit during ripening from pests such as caterpillars, choose this spray.
Spray for shrubs
- 1 tablespoon baking soda
- 1 aspirin tablet
- 1 teaspoon liquid soap
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 4.5 liters of water
Mix all the ingredients and then spray the shrubs with this mixture.
Cucumbers
With young cucumbers we are often troubled by the yellowing of young fruits that stop growing. This is a sign of a serious cucumber disease.
Spray for cucumbers
- 1 tablespoon baking soda
- 10 liters of water
Mix these ingredients and, using a spray bottle, apply to the cucumbers.
Cabbage
Gardeners often face a serious problem with cabbage when the heads wilt prematurely. Baking soda also helps with this problem.
Spray for cabbage
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1 liter of warm water
Use this spray on cabbage also as a preventive measure about every 3 days.
Spray for cabbage pests
- 3 liters of water
- 1 tablespoon liquid soap
- 1 capsule of valerian root
Mix these ingredients and use the preparation as a spray on the cabbage to protect it from all pests.
One month before harvesting the cabbage, it is necessary to spray it with an ammonia solution.
- 40 ml of ammonia
- 5 liters of water
- 5 tablespoons liquid soap
Thanks to this spray, the cabbage will not rot too quickly after harvest.
