Temperature above 38 degrees, cough, breathing problems or severe pain throughout the body – symptoms that are associated not only with the flu but also with Covid-19.

These days, however, scientists have come up with a new finding – the presence of the coronavirus can also signal other health problems!

From one “innocent” person, who on November 17 of last year was found to be infected with a new type of coronavirus, within a few months the disease spread across the whole world, where to this day 247 thousand infected are recorded. The Czech Republic is no exception.

For most infected people, the coronavirus test was performed based on known symptoms we hear about every day — such as a runny nose, a temperature above 38 degrees Celsius, muscle and joint pain and, not least, cough and shortness of breath.

However, American scientists in their latest study found that symptoms can also include digestive issues.

They reached their finding based on an analysis of data from 204 patients in China’s Hubei province. Nearly 49 percent of them admitted that at the time they arrived at the hospital they suffered from diarrhea or vomiting.

According to experts, however, digestive troubles appear even before the respiratory symptoms typical for coronavirus.

“Patients in this study who had digestive problems had a higher risk of death compared to patients without these problems,” shocked scientist Brennan Spiegel.
