The retail chain LIDL is withdrawing a food product from sale after a defect was discovered. Customers should therefore heed the warning and avoid consuming the dairy product in question.

What is it?

LIDL reports the recall of 200 grams of soft cheese made from white pasteurized goat’s milk under the “Pilos” brand. In Slovakia, products from the supplier Société Fromagere de Riblaire marked CE FR 79.299.001 are being withdrawn from the market, with best-before dates of 26.9.2022, 29.9.2022 and 6.10.2022.

Customers face a risk of injury

The reason for the recall is the possible presence of a foreign metal object directly in the product. Consumers who eat the cheese thus expose themselves to a risk of injury and should under no circumstances consume it. “If you purchased the mentioned product, you can return it to any store and your money will be refunded without presenting a receipt,” said the company’s spokesperson.
