A big help for bees
Honey bees become very tired while collecting pollen and then need extra vitality to return to the hive. That is why we often find many of them lifeless on the ground — they did not have enough energy to get back to the hive.
To protect the bees and give them enough energy, provide them with sugar mixed with water.
Simply mix 2 tablespoons of white granulated sugar with 1 tablespoon of water and leave a spoon freely placed with this mixture where a bee can reach it.
Destroys nematodes in the garden
If the plants in your garden look unhealthy and nodules appear on their roots, they have probably fallen victim to a nematode attack. These tiny worms attack the roots.
You can prevent attacks by inconspicuous pests if you prepare an inhospitable environment for them from sugar. Scatter roughly 2 kilograms of sugar over every 25 square meters of garden. The microorganisms that feed on the sugar will thus increase the amount of organic matter in the soil and by their activity will drive out the dangerous invaders.
Gardener and florist in one
Are your flowers wilting and you don’t know what to do? Take a closer look at their roots — the problem may be grubs attacking them. Try adding sugar to the soil, which will boost the activity of beneficial bacteria and microorganisms. They will create a maximally hostile environment for further grubs. Sugar is suitable to add to watering water from time to time together with vinegar. Approximately two tablespoons of sugar and two tablespoons of vinegar per half liter of water will give your flowers extra nutrition . And so they are beautiful not only in the garden but also in the vase , add sugar with vinegar to them for longer freshness .
Quickly clean greasy, dirty hands
Do you have a lot of grease, dirt or paint on your hands? Easily and thoroughly clean dirty hands if you sprinkle a small amount of granulated sugar into your palms and add the same amount of olive oil. Then carefully and gently polish your hands. Finally wipe them thoroughly and dry them. The sugar crystals act as an abrasive and help the oil remove grease, paint and grime. Your hands will be clean, soft and supple again.
Sugar + yeast = a miraculous combination for every garden
Mosquito trap – works indoors and outdoors
This trap attracts much more than your blood . Just place it in several spots, for example around the terrace, or even in an apartment. Believe that mosquitoes cannot resist this “treat”, but they won’t get back out of it.
we need:
3 dl of water – about 1 cup
¼ cup brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon dried yeast (fresh can also be used)
a clear two-liter PET bottle
How to:
Cut the bottle in half. Put the brown sugar into warm water and stir until dissolved . Let the sweet solution cool and then pour it into the bottom part of the bottle. Add the yeast, which does not need to be stirred. The yeast produces carbon dioxide, which very strongly attracts mosquitoes. Insert the top half of the bottle upside down into the bottom half. If they don’t hold together, seal them with insulating tape. Wrap the bottom part of the bottle with something black , or simply paint it black. The top part remains clear. The whole trick is that mosquitoes love hiding places in dark spots and especially where they can sense carbon dioxide. I usually portion the mixture into several bottles.
Life elixir for your plants
we need:
- 50 g fresh yeast
- 1 liter warm water
- 1 tablespoon sugar
procedure:
- Stir and let stand for 1 day. Then dilute at a ratio of 1:5 (1 part nutrient, 5 parts water) and water each bush with half a liter of the mixture.
- If you don’t have fresh yeast, the mixture can be prepared from 1 teaspoon of dried yeast. This amount of fertilizer is enough for 10 plants. The roots of the plants are nourished by this tonic for the whole season.
