Fashion doesn’t concern only clothing, cars, design or music. Fashion also influences our fridge. Quinoa, chia, goji, matcha, acai – the list of “modern” foods that are exalted to the skies thanks to their booming effects on our body is enormous. However, scientists are not infallible and often the cruel truth about the foods we’ve made the alpha and omega of our diet is revealed.

The latest shocking finding concerns coconut oil.

Renowned Harvard professor Karin Michels compares coconut oil to poison and considers it one of the worst foods we can consume.

Michels refutes the misleading stereotype of coconut oil as a healthier alternative to butter or lard – according to the professor it is far more harmful!

Traditional butter contains 52% saturated fats, while coconut oil contains up to 86% of them.

Last year American scientists reported findings that this oil raises LDL cholesterol levels (i.e. “bad” cholesterol), which can lead to heart disease or even stroke.
