Recipe for lavender lemonade
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon of culinary lavender oil or ¼ cup of fresh crushed lavender flowers
- 1 cup lemon juice
- 1 cup honey
- 5 cups of water
Instructions:
- Pour 2 and a half cups of water into a pot and bring to a boil.
- When the water boils, remove it from the stove and, while stirring, add the honey.
- Then add the lavender and cover the pot with a lid. Let the mixture steep for 20 minutes up to several hours.
- After cooling, strain through a sieve and serve with the lemon juice and the remaining 2 and a half cups of water. You can also add ice.
- You can personalize the drink to your liking – for a fresher touch, for example, add a few mint leaves.
One of lavender’s well-known miraculous effects is also the treatment of insomnia.
If you suffer from this disorder, or often wake up during sleep, drink at least a glass of lavender lemonade before going to bed. Lavender tea brewed from fresh flowers is also a good aid.
