Every child must suffer through chickenpox. Some doctors, however, ignore the symptoms and downplay this illness. That was also the case with Hayley Lyons’s son.
The young single mother lives in the English town of Warrington and took Lewis to the doctor. He had a high fever. The doctor recommended ibuprofen to the mother. The boy’s condition only worsened. He had small blisters all over his body and only then did it become clear that it was chickenpox. They took the son back to the hospital. Just in time!
What happened ?
When we were at the hospital in Alder Hey (we had no choice, because the doctors nearby sent us home, because it’s „just“ chickenpox). We saw that something bad was happening to his body. The drug caused blood poisoning (sepsis). Thanks to our intuition and professional help, Lewis is okay“.
The boy’s mother shares the doctors’ recommendation – in case of fever the child should not under any circumstances take medicines containing paracetamol. After all, the package leaflet of the medicines states that they cannot be used in the case of chickenpox. In Lewis’s case the doctors did not suspect that it was this illness and after it broke out the doctors downplayed the situation. Let’s not allow a similar situation to happen again. Don’t risk it!
