One of the hardest home renovations was covering the windows. This young woman didn’t like her blinds; they made too much noise and simply didn’t fit her home.
So she came up with her own blinds and they really turned out well
She transformed them into beautiful Roman shades. This young woman recorded the entire process on video and then uploaded it as a video tutorial to YouTube so others could be inspired by her.
You will need:
- 2 meters of fabric
- 2 meters of linen or higher-weight cotton (optional)
- 1 “white mini blind
- fabric glue
- foam, brush
- scissors
- iron
- sewing machine (optional)
- pegs (optional)
There’s no need to list the entire procedure here when you can watch it yourself in the video.
The woman claims it’s not as complicated as it looks — it’s just a careful process, and if you follow the instructions you’ll achieve the same result.
PROCEDURE:
First, lay your old blinds on the floor.
Use scissors to cut the ladder cords located on both sides of the blind (these are the cords that keep the slats connected to each other).
Separate some of the slats so that the gaps between them are seven inches (approximately the width of your fist).
The edge slats are not used, so you don’t have to cut them.
Spread out the side you want to work on.
Fold the fabric at the edges and glue it.
Make sure to handle it so the glue doesn’t dry before you can adjust it.
Once everything is dry, simply hang your new shades the same way they were before and enjoy!
Your new blinds will look much better and nicer than if you bought them from a store.
