Apple and bay leaf. Two ingredients commonly used in the kitchen, and many don’t even know what healing power they have together.
Bay leaf
It is mainly used to flavor various sauces and soups. However, it can do much more. In combination with apple it improves eyesight, reduces inflammation and relieves pain.
Regular consumption of this drink reduces joint inflammation, regulates blood circulation, helps with migraines, strengthens the immune system and helps fight respiratory illnesses. Apple contains antioxidants with anti-inflammatory effects and this tea is also rich in vitamin C, so it is excellent for flu and colds.
Thanks to the soluble fiber pectin found in the peel, it very effectively lowers bad cholesterol. Therefore the apple should not be peeled.
A study conducted by the University of Medical Sciences in Iran found that bay leaf helps reduce body fat and treats kidney stones.
This drink is also suitable for diabetics and as a prevention against diabetes, because it regulates blood sugar levels.
Another advantage of this drink is that it slows cellular aging. It is very beneficial for asthma, inflamed bronchi, and it also improves brain function.
Preparation of the drink
Always use dried bay leaves, because fresh leaves can be toxic.
We need:
- 3 bay leaves
- 1 apple
- 1 l of water
optional:
- cinnamon and honey
Instructions
First, thoroughly wash the apple. Then cut it into 4 pieces and remove the core. Cut into smaller pieces. Pour the water into a pot and bring to a boil. Then add the bay leaf, cinnamon and simmer for 5 minutes. Finally add the apple, remove from the heat and let sit covered for 10 minutes. Strain the finished drink through a sieve, add honey and drink on an empty stomach in the morning or in the evening before bed. However, never for longer than 2 weeks, then you must take a break.
