How to boil eggs hard without cracking? How to cook pasta so it doesn’t stick together? How to keep fish fillets intact even when frying? We have answers to these questions and other useful tips for you. These are simple culinary secrets of chefs.

How to cook potatoes?

Never cover a pot with boiling potatoes. If you don’t want all the nutrients and necessary substances to escape from the product, not to mention the aroma and taste, do not steam potatoes or any vegetables. It’s true that the potatoes may cook a little later, but they will be better in quality, tastier, more flavorful, and also healthier.

How to cook pasta?

Do you also have the feeling that no matter how expensive or cheap the pasta is, it all sticks together after cooking or even during it? The problem is that pasta used to be made from so-called soft wheat. Such pasta hardly stuck at all and didn’t even need to be rinsed. Today durum (hard) wheat is used to make pasta, which is the cause of all our pasta failures. To keep pasta from sticking together, add a knob of butter to the pot.

How to fry fish?

Few people know that crab sticks do not fall apart during cooking because they are not salted. As soon as you salt fish meat before cooking, it will fall apart. That’s the case when frying ordinary fillets, but also carp. The same applies when roasting trout or salmon. When frying, add salt to the batter or to the breadcrumbs in which you coat the fish. If you bake the fish in the oven, salt it only just before the end of the process.

How to cook eggs?

If you don’t want your eggs to crack while boiling, there is a simple trick. Salt the water well before putting them in. An eggshell cracks only if it is thrown into water that is too hot and lacks enough salt.

How to prepare yeast dough?

If it often happens that your dough doesn’t rise or rises poorly, the reason may be, for example, that you added tap water to it. It contains a lot of chlorine, even if you use a filtering kettle. If you add table water — non-sparkling or lightly sparkling mineral water — the dough will be like a cloud. Also pay attention to the freshness of the yeast. Dry yeast does not guarantee quality dough. Therefore buy fresh yeast and watch the expiration date.

How to fry cheese?

If you don’t want to buy semi-processed cheeses intended for frying that make you feel like you’re chewing gum instead of cheese, make sure to buy the thickest possible cheese. Also try the freezer trick. Portion the cheese and put it in the freezer for a few minutes. Coat the frozen cheese in a double or even triple breading and you can fry it. The cheese won’t run out because due to the slight chilling or freezing it won’t start to melt after just a few seconds. Before it reaches that stage, the crust will be nicely golden and the cheese inside perfectly heated.

How to keep bread fresh longer?

Simply. Instead of putting bread in a bread bin, put it in the refrigerator or a cold chamber. The cold preserves all the beneficial properties of bread better and keeps it fresher for up to 1-2 days longer! Unlike tomatoes or bananas, storing them in the refrigerator robs them of flavor and appearance.

How to cook rice?

Do you also have an eternal problem with cooking rice? Sometimes it’s hard, other times it becomes overcooked. Preparing rice is sometimes a real art, but it can be done with the help of these small tricks. Add a little lemon juice, acid, or cold milk to the hot water with the rice. Thanks to the reaction of one of these substances, you will be better able to monitor the rice and remove it from the heat at the right moment.
