To feel physically and mentally well, we should follow a healthy lifestyle. Nowadays it is generally known that we should follow rules such as exercising regularly, eating vegetables and fruit, or drinking plenty of water. But did you know that nutrition experts have recently been overturning some of those rules?

Nutrition advisors have come to the view that some rules about a healthy lifestyle are not entirely true. And we bring you 5 myths in this area!

Hearty breakfasts

It is generally known that a substantial breakfast gives the body energy and kick-starts us for the day. But having breakfast right after waking up, and especially a hot one, is not the right choice. Each of us is different and has a different biorhythm, so if we treat ourselves to a hearty hot breakfast as soon as we get up, we can disrupt this rhythm because the body may not yet be awake. Experts recommend having a glass of lukewarm water immediately after waking up, waiting some time before breakfast, and choosing a smaller portion that is, however, more nutritious.

Sweets

It is also said that sweets are not healthy. Yes, but only when we overdo it. Having a few squares of chocolate or some sweet fruit is beneficial to the body, because sugar in this case provides your body with energy and kick-starts brain activity. Glucose has a unique importance for the body, and when it is out of balance it can even cause diabetes.

Frozen vegetables and fruit

People say that raw vegetables and fruit are much healthier than frozen ones, but it depends on the season. Today we treat fruit and vegetables that are not grown in the winter season with various chemicals to preserve an attractive texture, and in doing so the beneficial substances for the body are destroyed. On the other hand, frozen fruit and vegetables are often grown in the current season, and because they are frozen immediately, these substances can be preserved up to 70 percent.

Drinking large amounts of water

A person should drink one and a half to two liters of plain water a day. At least that’s what is written everywhere. A person actually needs 30 ml of fluid per 1 kg of body weight, and it doesn’t have to be plain water. For example, in addition to three cups of plain water we can drink unsweetened tea, coffee, or mineral water. And above all, never force yourself to drink water! You can overload your kidneys by doing so, which can lead to wear and damage.

Drinking during meals

Do you have a habit of drinking water during a meal? If so, you should know that water dilutes the gastric juice that breaks down food. Drinking water during a meal is recommended only when the food is very dry.

In the end, follow the rules that are beneficial for your body, which will itself tell you what suits it and what doesn’t.
