Have you ever noticed that every house has its own specific scent? Especially if something was just cooked or baked there. But it is very unpleasant if at times you can smell sewage from the bathroom or kitchen. This smell is a sign of a clogged pipe and this problem needs to be addressed.

Drain cleaner

We offer you an effective way to solve the problem of a clogged pipe without having to call plumbers, buy expensive cleaning agents, or try other ‘expert’ tips.

You need

  • 2 pcs Alka-Seltzer – tablets
  • 250 ml of vinegar

Procedure

Insert two Alka-Seltzer tablets into the drain.
Then pour the vinegar into it and let it act for 2 minutes. During this step, close the drain pipe.
Finally add boiling water into the opening as well so the grime dissolves. Not only will you get rid of the clogged pipe, but you’ll also remove the unpleasant smell.

Chemicals

Most cleaning products on store shelves can in some way harm our health. The dangerous ones are precisely those made from strong agents, and drain unclogging products belong to this group.
Moreover, plumbers themselves recommend using fewer chemicals, because this prevents the seals from corroding. To avoid this, it is best to monitor the condition of the pipes.

Prevention of clogging

Pour boiled water from the kettle directly into the kitchen sink drain. Do this once every two days. Hot water dissolves grease that is stuck to the walls of the pipes.
Make sure you have a strainer in the sink. Food scraps, waste, or hair will remain on it and won’t slowly clog the pipes.
Regularly sprinkle a few tablespoons of salt into the sink and pour boiling water over it. You can also combine salt with vinegar.

Be careful that the drain in the basin or bathtub is not clogged with hair, because hair cannot be dissolved even with chemicals.
