Thousands of infected patients every day, hundreds of additional victims and millions of frightened people – this is exactly how the new type of coronavirus Covid-19 affects the world population. None of us can predict with certainty how a serious diagnosis would manifest on one’s body, so it is appropriate that people are actively interested in possible treatment options.

In recent hours foreign media have been flooded with reports that drugs are being tested in Australia that allegedly work excellently against respiratory disease!

A pandemic of enormous proportions becomes fertile ground for the emergence of diverse conspiracy theories ranging from searches for military or geopolitical goals to considerations of a highly likely economic crisis that the world may face in a matter of weeks. One thing is certain – the most renowned scientists and pharmacists are working hard to discover medicine that would stop all this madness as soon as possible, or at least slow it down.

Experts agree that without strict measures roughly 60% of the global population could become infected, which is indeed a huge number. The aim is therefore to achieve a slowing of the spread of the infection, and in the best case to invent a vaccine or drugs to completely eliminate the symptoms.

Could relief be coming for all of us soon?

The information coming from Australia therefore has literally beneficial effects, where doctors are said to have two types of drugs that are achieving unexpectedly positive effects. Although the infection is not as developed among the antipodes as in Europe, the number of infected patients is growing there as well. It is precisely on this sample of people that the drug is currently being tested, and after its administration several patients reportedly experienced a gradual complete disappearance of the virus from the organism.

So far it is known that the medication should be Lopinavir / Ritonavir, used in the treatment of HIV, but in combination with an anti-malaria drug. Experts are also testing the use of the mentioned products with chloroquine, with the research conclusions expected to be evaluated in approximately a month.

The good news is that in Australia these are supposed to be approved and registered drugs that were discovered in the past, but according to local health officials they should be usable against the raging coronavirus!
