Spring is a time for a thorough cleaning of the house. Nature renews itself and people follow it – cleaning everything that is dirty and putting their home in order after winter. Special attention is paid to the windows and windowsills.
Clean windowsills
Windows are a source of light. For spring sun rays to penetrate the house through them, they must be clean. The same goes for the windowsills.
Window sills often remain yellow, covered with mold, leaving marks from flower pots. All of this simply because we do not take care of them as we should.
How to remove dirt from plastic window sills?
Damp cloth
When cleaning the surface, use damp cloths, just like the ones you use to clean the microwave or refrigerator.
Cleaning agent
If the problem is more serious, for example marks from markers, highlighters, lipstick, spilled and dried iodine, or other similar colored substances, use a glass cleaner that contains an ammonia solution.
Bleaching washing powder
If the stain cannot be removed in any other way, make a paste from bleaching washing powder and water. Apply it in a thin layer on the windowsill and leave it to act for one hour. Finally, rinse it off.
Laundry soap
Another option is to use ordinary laundry soap. Lather a sponge with it and apply it to the dirt.
Vinegar
Undiluted vinegar essence will help with rust. It is necessary to work in rubber gloves so as not to damage the skin.
Bleach
When removing stains from a windowsill, bleach them. Use any chlorine bleach sold in stores that carry household chemicals.
Baking soda
Baking soda will help you fight black mold. Make a paste with water and the soda and leave it on a windowsill covered with mold for 1 hour. Then rinse thoroughly with water.
Self-adhesive film
If your windowsill is still in bad shape and none of the measures taken helped, try a self-adhesive film. There is currently a huge selection of films in different colors and patterns on the market. The surface of such a film is lacquered, which makes cleaning easier than with plastic. Of course, applying film will not be a universal cure, but it will certainly help the appearance of the windowsill. A proper windowsill is a clean windowsill!
