Imagine that from waste like plastic bottles you can make excellent garden tools that save you time and money! This recycling also helps our planet. You won’t believe how many functions such an ordinary plastic bottle can handle.

8 amazing helpers from plastic bottles

Sprinkler irrigation system

The principle of this design is similar to an automatic irrigation system, except you can make it yourself. Just make holes along the entire surface of the bottle, attach a hose to the neck and turn on the water. This way the water will gently and evenly irrigate a larger area without you having to invest a single crown.

Root irrigation system

Many plants should be watered only at the roots. To simplify the watering process you can make holes in the plastic bottle at the right places and bury the container in the ground together with the plant. In this way the water from the bottle will gradually be released directly to the roots and the plant will have enough moisture even without your daily watering. Just refill the bottle whenever it runs out.

Wasp trap

A wasp nest near the house or in the garden can be a problem because it interferes with work and relaxation. To protect yourself, make wasp traps from plastic bottles. Cut off the top of the container, invert it and push the neck down. Pour in syrup. Wasps will be able to fly into the trap but won’t get out.

Seedling cultivator

Larger plastic bottles are a great place for seedlings. To get the plants to sprout, make a sufficient number of drainage holes in the container, then fill the container with soil and plant the seeds. Place the bottles on a tray covered with pebbles

Growing bulb seedlings

A large plastic bottle can be used for growing onions. Cut off the top of the container and make round holes across the surface into which you place the bulbs. Fill the bottle with soil. Done. Don’t forget regular watering and harvesting!

Cold frame for growing roses

Plastic bottles retain heat and moisture and protect the plant from pests. In the case of roses, such a cover is simply perfect. Place the rose seedling under the plastic cover into prepared soil. Water regularly and the first shoots will literally shoot up in record time.

Flower pots

If you cut a plastic bottle, you can easily turn it into a simple hanging flower pot.Make the handles from simple rope and you can paint the pots in various colors.

Flower beds

From the same plastic bottles you can create an original flower bed. Just fill the plastic bottles with sand and bury them neck-down in the ground around the perimeter of the flower bed. The bottles can be painted any color as needed and the number depends on the size of your flower bed.
