If we set out to make a salad, we usually focus on the combination of flavors, but few people think that there are many more criteria that need to be followed when combining vegetables into a salad. Certain ingredients do not go together, and tomatoes and cucumbers are precisely such a case.
Cucumbers and tomatoes
The basic problem lies in the fact that cucumbers and tomatoes require different times to digest.
However, when we talk about combining ingredients in a salad, it is appropriate to choose ingredients that take a similar time to digest.
If two foods that have different digestion times enter the stomach, it happens that one of the foods is digested faster, but it will leave the stomach only together with the other food, and at this point a danger arises, especially when the given food contains sugar.
A process will occur that causes unpleasant heartburn. In certain cases, food poisoning may occur.
Furthermore, this problem causes increased gas production, leading to bloating and flatulence.
There are many more combinations that should not be combined. Which are they?
Cheese, eggs and meat
This combination is very popular with people, especially at breakfast.
However, the problem for the body is that this meal contains too many proteins, which overwhelm the body.
Meat and pasta
Pasta should not spend too long in the stomach like fruit does, but meat, on the other hand, needs more time in the stomach. Again, a similar problem occurs as in the previous cases.
Fruit after a meal
Fruit contains a large amount of sugar, and if we eat fruit after a meal that, for example, contains meat, the fruit will remain in the stomach for too long.
Bread, pasta and orange juice
Juice contains too many acids that prevent the digestion of carbohydrates and starch.
Yogurt with fruit
This combination again leads to slowed digestion. This warning applies especially to yogurt with pineapple.
Cheese with vegetables
This combination will cause excessive bloating.
Milk with banana
This combination is popular, for example, for breakfast with cereals, but this combination significantly slows digestion.
Watermelon and other melons
Melons are not good to mix with other foods, nor with each other.
