The sixth published edition of the plan for diagnosis and treatment of pneumonia caused by the new type of coronavirus states that the main modes of transmission of the virus are droplet and contact transmission.

It is specified that the virus is transmitted via „close“ contact.

The Health Commission additionally noted that „there is a possibility of aerosol infection during prolonged stay in a relatively enclosed space with a high aerosol concentration“.

Previously we reported that scientists found that in some cases coronavirus symptoms can include gastrointestinal nausea and diarrhea, and the virus itself is then transmitted via fecal matter.

At the end of December Chinese authorities reported an outbreak of pneumonia of unknown origin in the densely populated city of Wuhan (Hubei province). Experts determined that the cause of the illness was a new type of coronavirus, 2019-nCoV, which is transmitted from person to person.

Symptoms include fever, cough, shortness of breath.

Experts at the Wuhan University Affiliated Hospital found that symptoms resembling a cold or influenza appear only in the later stages of the disease; at the onset there may be an atypical development of pneumonia.
After examining newly infected patients it was found that the first symptoms of coronavirus can be diarrhea, nausea and other digestive system problems, headaches and, in rarer cases, chest pressure.
Doctors also note that in a number of cases infected patients showed only atypical symptoms of the disease and did not even develop a fever, so the presence of the dangerous virus could only be detected after further tests.
