Have you gotten a craving for something good? If so, we know what your body is lacking and you should replenish it as soon as possible!

Craving chocolate? You’re low on magnesium!

A simple source of magnesium is sunflower and sesame seeds or almonds. Avocado or seaweed are also a suitable source.

Craving cheese? Replenish calcium!
If you have a long-term craving for cheese and your mouth waters whenever you see it, try topping up your calcium. Sources include fish, broccoli or almonds.

Craving salty? Rehydrate!
A desire for chips or other salty treats can indicate that you’re dehydrated. Salt retains fluids in the body and so a craving for salty foods may suggest the body is trying to hold on to some water. If you drink around two liters of fluids a day, your craving for chips will pass.

Craving baked goods? You’re not eating enough!
If looking at bread or spaghetti makes you incredibly hungry, you probably haven’t eaten much during the day. The carbohydrates found in baked goods are the main fuel. When you crave them, try to replenish your stores.

Craving coffee? Replenish phosphorus and iron

You can replenish phosphorus with whole grain products or nuts. To top up iron, eat leafy greens, dried raisins or seaweed.
